Testing, District Benchmark Testing

Teachers evaluate the progress of their students in a variety of ways. Included may be diagnostic procedures, observation, record-keeping, teacher-made tests, portfolios, writing proficiencies and standardized tests. Each trimester teachers will administer the District wide Benchmark exams. These exams help show progress of each student in Language Arts and Math.

SBAC Smarter Balance State Testing

Each year in April grades 3rd, 4th, and 5th participate in the SBAC Smarter Balance State Testing.  These test are adopted by the State of California and used as another source to evaluate the progress of students.  SBAC testing results are collected and parents are informed of their child's progress in English Language Arts and Mathematics.

5th grade students also take part in the CST, California State Testing, for Science.

Students may be opted out of state testing by contacting the school and completion of the State Testing Exemption Form.
